Mystery of the canceled Mexicana ticket

Q: I had a major problem with a recent flight on Mexicana Airlines, and I'm not sure what to do. When I arrived at the airport in Chicago for my flight to Acapulco via Mexico City, I was told that my entire itinerary had been canceled.

During the next few weeks, I would get three different explanations from the airline. First, that the fare was “too low" and that Mexicana canceled it after calling me to confirm. Second, that someone named “Victoria" canceled my reservation and requested a refund. And third, that I called to cancel the reservation myself.

I can assure you that none of those things happened.

Spanish judge indicts 40 Rwandan military officers for genocide

The judge issued international arrest warrants against the 40, including Gen. James Kabarebe, whom the judge said is believed to be the chief of staff of Rwanda's military; Gen. Kayumba Nyamwasa, whom the judge said is believed to be Rwanda's ambassador to India; and Lt. Col. Rugumya Gacinya, whom the judge said is believed to be a military attaches at Rwanda's embassy in Washington, according to court documents viewed by CNN

Rwanda does not have an extradition treaty with Spain, a court spokeswoman told CNN.

The indictments against the 40 are for "crimes of genocide, human rights abuses and terrorism," during the 1990s in Rwanda, "when more than four million Rwandans were killed or disappeared under an extermination plan for ethnic and/or political reasons," the court documents said.

Extra! UIdaho Student Found Shot to Death

I have since purchased the first three seasons, having watched the first two seasons in less than two weeks time. I am half way through the 3rd season and not looking back. My question for the forum: do you watch this show? Do you find it as thrilling, exciting and thought provoking as I do? Jack Bauer for president '08? I really need to know if I am alone with this as my sleep pattern has been significantly altered since becoming a "24 freak"?! Also, I figured this show may be popular with the HBO crowd so advice from you regulars is much appreciated!

Special prosecutor to probe actions of Elgin cop after New Year's ...

A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate whether an off-duty Elgin police officer committed a crime after a New Year's Eve brawl at an Elgin hotel, authorities said Friday.

Officer Chris Darr was assigned to desk duty after the incident at the Holiday Inn in which his father, former Elgin Police Chief Jack Darr, was seriously hurt and nine people were arrested.

Chris Darr has not been charged with any wrongdoing, but the Illinois appellate prosecutor's office will investigate the incident to avoid a potential conflict with Kane County prosecutors, State's Attorney John Barsanti said.

Because Kane County prosecutors work with Elgin police on a daily basis, Barsanti said he asked the department to seek another agency to investigate Chris Darr's actions.

"Some of the witnesses are officers, and we have relationships with some of these guys," Barsanti said.

Oshkosh falls in first round

Tyriver lead the team in points with 19 and rebounds as both her and freshman Tiffany Pugh had nine. Boeder ended the game with 17 points. She converted on her first seven shots finishing 7-9. “Coach told us to keep taking it to the hoop and when we drive to open up lanes and it opened up for me and I just kept taking it," said Boeder. Tyriver will be missed next season and it's never fun for the season to end, but Schumacher has a lot of young talent that she is excited to have back for next season. “Even though it was a 22-point loss, I think there are a lot of positive things you can take out of this game and build on for next year," said Schumacher.
